Tech Trek New Mexico is a transformative week-long camp held at New Mexico Tech in Socorro, NM, designed for girls passionate about Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM). Originating from a successful initiative by AAUW of California, this program has expanded nationwide, with New Mexico hosting its first camp in 2014. The camp provides hands-on experiences and role models, empowering girls to pursue careers in STEM fields.
Tech Trek has significantly increased girls’ self-confidence and interest in STEM. An impressive 96% of alumnae go on to college, with 91% reporting enhanced self-confidence in their science abilities.
