Our Story
Amel Houston is a dedicated 501(c)(3) non-profit organization focused on enhancing the quality of life for refugees, asylees, and immigrant communities in Houston, Texas. Founded in 2016 by Assaad Mohanna, the organization aims to provide essential mental health support, education, and social services. A cornerstone initiative is the coaching program, which empowers underserved high school students with leadership and career coaching. As part of the globally recognized Amel Association International, Amel Houston extends its impact by offering healthcare, education, and job training to vulnerable groups in the Middle East.
