Amazing Life Games Preschool was founded in 1971 by two dedicated early childhood educators in a church basement on 16th and Taylor Streets, NW. Named after a cherished collection of childhood activities, ALG has evolved over the years while maintaining its core philosophy: children learn best through play. After nearly two decades at 1844 Mintwood Place, ALG transitioned to a parent cooperative model in 1991 and now operates within Grace Lutheran Church on 16th Street.
For over 50 years, ALG has been nurturing children aged 2.5 to 5 years in Washington, D.C. through engaging play-based learning. Highly trained teachers create rich learning environments that foster independence and social connections among young learners.
