Our Story

In 2010, while teaching English to refugees in Kampala, Missy recognized a significant gap in services for vulnerable refugees. This realization led to the establishment of the first shelter for refugee women in Kampala in 2013. By 2019, Amani Sasa was launched to provide holistic care for refugee families, impacting over 450 families annually with a dedicated team of 37 East African staff, many of whom are graduates of our programs.

Impact

Amani Sasa serves over 2000 individuals each year, offering trauma rehabilitation, emergency services, and vocational training to the most vulnerable refugee families in Kampala.
