Founded in 1980, Almaden Valley Counseling Service (AVCS) emerged from a community need for accessible mental health support for youth and families. The organization was established following tragic events that highlighted the lack of adequate counseling services in the area. Initially operating from the basement of Joint Ventures Church, AVCS has grown significantly, now serving over 1800 clients annually from its office on Crown Boulevard.

AVCS is dedicated to providing affordable mental health counseling to individuals of all ages, promoting personal growth, positive family relationships, and emotional well-being. With a sliding fee scale, AVCS ensures that financial barriers do not prevent access to essential services.
