Our Story

Wellfound began as a grassroots initiative aimed at enhancing access to essential inpatient psychiatric care in Pierce and South King counties. This collaborative effort involved community agencies, businesses, and individuals, all united under the South Sound Behavioral Health Coalition. The partnership between Virginia Mason Franciscan Health and MultiCare Health System led to the establishment of a new behavioral health hospital in Tacoma, providing vital services to those in need.
