Milne Developmental Services
EIN: 72-0261790 · Covington, LA
Our Story
Founded by Alexander Milne in 1776, this organization began as a sanctuary for destitute orphan boys and girls, evolving into a vital service provider for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The Milne Asylum, established in 1838, has adapted over the years to meet community needs, including the expansion of services to males in 2017. Despite challenges like Hurricane Katrina, which devastated facilities, the organization has rebuilt and continues to promote independence and community integration.
Impact
Milne Developmental Services has successfully fostered independence and inclusion for individuals with disabilities, ensuring a high quality of life through tailored support and community engagement.
