Alegria Community Living

Our Story

Alegria Community Living was established in response to the closure of the Agnews Developmental Center in 2009. Founded by a dedicated group of executive directors, parents, and advocates, the organization aims to provide stable and secure community living services for individuals with developmental disabilities. With a focus on supporting those transitioning from institutional care to community living, Alegria has developed nine housing projects in collaboration with the Housing Consortium of the East Bay.
