Our Story

The AT Center has its roots in the historic Black Cat Tavern protests, ignited by police brutality against gay patrons. In 1969, the first LGBTQ recovery meetings emerged, leading to the establishment of Alcoholics Together, dedicated to supporting gay individuals battling alcoholism. Over the years, the organization has expanded, creating a vital network of meetings and support for the LGBTQ community and allies, fostering a safe space for recovery and wellness.

Impact

For nearly 50 years, the AT Center has served as a lifeline for the LGBTQ+ community, offering a safe haven for recovery and support. Through numerous recovery meetings and wellness programs, individuals have found the path to sobriety and improved mental health.
