Our Story
The Albanian American Women’s Organization, known as AAWO, was founded thirty years ago by a group of resilient Albanian women who came together to share their experiences and support one another in a foreign culture. Named after the pioneering Sisters Qiriazi, the first Albanian women educators, AAWO has become a beacon of hope and advocacy for Albanian women, especially during the tumultuous times of war and oppression in Kosovo.
Impact
With a commitment to serving the community, AAWO has raised and distributed over $100,000 to refugees and has positively impacted over 1,500 members through workshops, seminars, and cultural events.
