Our Story

The Alaska Native Heritage Center was established in 1987 by the Alaska Federation of Natives to create a statewide cultural center dedicated to Alaska Native heritage. Officially incorporated as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit in 1989, the Center opened its doors in May 1999, thanks to the support of community members and organizations. Celebrating its 25th Anniversary in 2024, ANHC continues to be a beacon of cultural preservation.
