The Alaska Laborers Training School has been a pioneer in construction training since the early 1970s, establishing one of the first training programs in the Laborers International. With the support of the Associated General Contractors, Alaska Chapter, the organization laid the foundation for a skilled workforce. In 1997, the Fairbanks Training Center was constructed, primarily by volunteers, and has since expanded to meet the growing needs of Alaska's construction industry.
