Alameda Family Services
EIN: 23-7088243 · Alameda, CA
Changing Lives, Building Communities Since 1969
Alameda Family Services began as a teen hotline called The Love-In Switchboard, founded by Sue Matheson in her living room with just $500 and a few volunteers. Incorporated in 1970 as Xanthos, Inc., the organization was renamed in 2005 to better reflect its mission: to serve as a vital resource for families in Alameda seeking support. Today, Alameda Family Services is a fully integrated community-based organization dedicated to providing premier mental health services, early childhood education, and family support.
Impacting the Community
Every year, Alameda Family Services helps thousands of individuals and families not just to survive, but to thrive. With a focus on emotional, psychological, and physical health, the organization offers essential services that empower families at all stages of life.
