Our Story

The Humane Society of North Central Florida was established in 2018 through the collaboration of the Alachua County Humane Society, Gainesville Pet Rescue, and Helping Hands Pet Rescue. This partnership streamlined services for pets and their owners, maximizing community resources and enhancing life-saving efforts across the region. With over 40 years of combined experience, HSNCF operates as a limited intake, no-kill animal rescue shelter, transferring animals from municipal shelters in North Central Florida.
