The Alabama Academy of Family Physicians was established in 1949 by five dedicated general physicians in Montgomery, Alabama. Over the years, this chapter has expanded to include over 1,000 active family physician members and more than 850 student and family medicine residents. The organization is committed to advocating for family physicians and their patients in legislative, regulatory, and public arenas while providing high-quality educational programming.
Each year, the chapter offers more than 35 hours of continuing medical education, significantly enhancing the quality of care provided by family physicians across Alabama.
