Cancer Care and Support Services

Our Story

Fish For A Cure (F4AC) began in 2007 as a gathering of friends and fishing enthusiasts enjoying the Chesapeake Bay. The tournament took a heartfelt turn when one participant's wife was diagnosed with cancer, prompting the group to transform their event into a charitable initiative. Initially supporting Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, F4AC now proudly benefits the Luminis Health Anne Arundel Medical Center’s Geaton and JoAnn DeCesaris Cancer Institute, fostering a community of support for local cancer patients.

Impact

Over the past 17 years, the Fish For A Cure Tournament has raised more than $5 million to enhance the Cancer Survivorship Program at LHAAMC. This program provides essential psychosocial services, including nurse navigation, nutrition counseling, and oncology rehabilitation, impacting over 2,000 individuals facing the challenges of cancer treatment and recovery.
