The Afterglow Foundation was established in memory of AJ Holzscheiter, who tragically lost his life to suicide in 2018. Inspired by a heartfelt poem, AJ's family transformed their grief into a mission to raise awareness and prevent suicide. By partnering with local mental health organizations, the foundation educates parents, educators, and coaches on how to engage in meaningful conversations about suicide with children and teens.
Proceeds from Afterglow events directly support suicide prevention programs at Northwestern Counseling & Support Services and the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, along with various youth initiatives.
