Our Story
Founded in 1991, Afro Brazil Arts (ABA) is dedicated to inspiring leadership and community through the art of capoeira. Based in New York City, ABA has been a beacon of cultural enrichment, providing programs and hosting events across the United States, Europe, Israel, and Brazil. Pioneered by Michael Goldstein, known as Mestre Ombrinho, ABA introduced year-round capoeira programs to Bronx high schools in 1988. Since then, thousands of performances and classes have been delivered in hundreds of schools, earning accolades from students, parents, and educators alike.
