Our Story

Founded in 2006, the African Center for Aquatic Research and Education Inc (ACARE) emerged from a call by African Ministers of Water to establish centers of excellence for freshwater resources. In 2017, ACARE was revitalized by a coalition of experts from Africa, Europe, and North America, dedicated to tackling the pressing challenges facing global freshwater resources.
