About the AARCH Society

The African American Resources Cultural and Heritage Society (AARCH) was founded in 2009 to honor the significant contributions of African Americans in Frederick County. Inspired by the late William O. Lee, Jr., the organization aims to document and celebrate the rich history and culture of the African American community.

Impact of AARCH Society

With a $50,000 grant from the Maryland Heritage Areas Authority, AARCH is developing the African American Heritage Center, which will serve as a vital educational resource for the community.
