Our Story
Founded in 1993 by members of the Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, the African American Museum of Iowa in Cedar Rapids has been a beacon of African American history and culture. After overcoming challenges, including a significant flood, the museum continues to thrive and expand its reach.
