Our Story

The African American Christian Foundation was established in 1985 by Dr. Kwadwo Antwi-Mensah to create employment opportunities for community residents, regardless of race, color, or religious affiliation. Initially focused on assisting newly immigrated Ghanaians in Chicago, AACF has since expanded its services to include job training and placement for unemployed and low-income adults and youth in Cook County.

Impact

In the 2021-2022 program year, AACF assisted 511 individuals living below the poverty line, with 72% experiencing a wage increase. The organization also provided supportive housing services to 10% of participants, helping many find stable housing.
