Our Story
The Afghan Children’s Songbook & Literacy Project was founded by Louise Pascale, a former Peace Corps volunteer who dedicated her life to preserving Afghan music. By collecting traditional children’s songs during her time in Afghanistan, she aimed to return these cultural treasures to Afghan children.
Impact
With over 50,000 songbooks and 7,500 Teacher’s Guides distributed, the project has significantly enhanced literacy skills and preserved Afghan music across schools, orphanages, and family centers.
