About interACT
Founded in 2006 by attorney Anne Tamar-Mattis, interACT—formerly known as Advocates for Informed Choice—was established to end harmful medical interventions on intersex children. With a national advisory board of experts, interACT has become a leader in intersex advocacy. In 2011, the organization launched a youth-led advocacy program, creating the first successful intersex youth advocacy group in the world. In 2016, the name change to interACT was made to honor the voices of intersex youth.
