Advance Illinois believes that every student deserves equitable access to a high-quality education. Founded in 2008 with support from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, The Joyce Foundation, and the Boston Consulting Group, this organization was established by leaders from various sectors to address the urgent need for a better education system in Illinois.

By working through the entire education and care system, Advance Illinois disrupts inequities and improves school quality for all students. The organization leverages policy, research, coalition building, and advocacy to create evidence-based solutions.
