Empowering Adults with Disabilities
Open Avenues, formerly known as the Adult Development Center of Benton County, has been a beacon of hope and opportunity in Northwest Arkansas since 1975. Founded to address the pressing need for services tailored to adults with disabilities, Open Avenues has evolved its programming to empower over 100 participants daily. Through life and job skills training, community employment opportunities, and transportation services, the organization fosters independence and inclusion in the workforce.
Participants at Open Avenues come from diverse backgrounds and face various challenges, including developmental and intellectual disabilities such as Cerebral Palsy, Autism, and Down Syndrome. The organization believes that everyone deserves the chance to work and learn, regardless of their disability. By providing a supportive and judgment-free environment, Open Avenues enables individuals to grow at their own pace, gaining the dignity and self-worth that comes from meaningful work.
