Adopt A Vet Dental Program

Our Story

The Adopt a Vet Dental Program was founded in April 2010 by Wayne and Linda Haigh in Reno, Nevada. After merging with the Northern Nevada Dental Health Programs in 2013, AAVD became its own nonprofit organization again in 2019. The mission is to provide essential dental care to low-income veterans who do not qualify for VA services or cannot afford dental care.

Impact

AAVD has served 1,879 veterans, providing over $9.6 million in donated dental services, significantly enhancing the oral health and quality of life for veterans in need.
