Our Story

Founded in November 2017 by Donna Nelson, Adopt A Single Mom Project is a grassroots non-profit dedicated to supporting working single moms in Northeastern Pennsylvania. Inspired by her own experiences, the organization began with a simple yet powerful idea: to provide Christmas gifts for single moms who often go overlooked during the holiday season. The vision is to empower these women by sharing tools and knowledge that enhance their quality of life and help them connect with their purpose.

With over 12,000 single moms in Northeastern Pennsylvania lacking access to many support services, the organization makes a significant impact in their lives.
