Our Story

The Agricultural Development Organization (ADO) was founded in 2022 by Philip Smith, a former businessman and executive director of the Bahamas Feeding Network. ADO rekindles the joy of farming, promoting the idea of growing what we eat and eating what we grow. By collaborating with individuals, schools, churches, and communities, ADO provides essential supplies and mentorship to inspire a passion for farming and reduce reliance on food imports.

Impact

In less than two years, ADO has established 2,500 new backyard farms, created agricultural programs in over two dozen schools, and developed community farms in church yards, significantly contributing to a more food-secure Bahamas.

Why Donate?

Your donation to ADO empowers communities, nurtures school farms, distributes farming kits, and educates individuals about agriculture in The Bahamas, cultivating a brighter, food-secure future for all.
