Founded in 2009 by Sister Ann McKean, Adelante Mujer, Inc. was inspired by the potential of Nicaraguan women pursuing medical education. The organization provides financial assistance to women studying at URACCAN University, addressing the critical shortage of healthcare professionals in Nicaragua.
Adelante Mujer has funded the education of 89 medical doctors, significantly enhancing healthcare in one of the poorest regions of the Western Hemisphere. Currently, 56 medical students are receiving vital financial support to complete their studies.
