Our Story

Founded in 1978 by a dedicated group of parents, Adelante Development Center has been a beacon of hope for individuals with disabilities. Originally named La Familia, the organization evolved to reflect its mission of progress and empowerment, adopting the name Adelante, which means 'forward' in Spanish. Over the years, it has expanded its services to include vocational training, supported employment, and community programs, positively impacting over 65,000 lives annually.

Impact

Adelante Development Center serves over 65,000 individuals each year, providing essential services to people with disabilities, seniors, and disadvantaged populations in New Mexico. Programs like Desert Harvest rescue over 1.2 million meals annually, while Storehouse New Mexico, the state's largest food pantry, serves approximately 50,000 people each year.
