Our Story
In 1999, Douglas McFalls visited Mtwara, Tanzania, where he discovered the potential of local artisans. This inspired him to co-found the ADEA Foundation in 2003, aimed at enhancing artisan skills and understanding of market demands. Over the years, ADEA has expanded its mission to include education, cultural preservation, and community development.
Impact
For over two decades, ADEA has transformed lives in Tanzania and Kenya by improving artisan production, preserving local culture, and providing education for underserved Maasai children through the establishment of two rural schools.
