Our Story
In January 2014, David Vobora, a former NFL player, met US Army Staff Sergeant Travis Mills, a quadruple amputee. This encounter sparked a transformative journey as David opened his personal gym to Travis, customizing workouts to meet his unique challenges. Through this partnership, David discovered a profound passion for helping individuals with life-altering injuries. Recognizing a gap in existing rehabilitation programs, he founded the Adaptive Training Foundation (ATF) to bridge the transition from basic rehabilitation to adaptive sports. Since receiving 501(c)(3) status in September 2014, ATF has dedicated itself to providing free services to adaptive athletes, empowering them through movement and community support.
