Activating Change was established in 2005 as a project of the Vera Institute of Justice. In 2021, it became an independent nonprofit organization dedicated to amplifying the voices of people with disabilities and Deaf individuals facing injustices. By focusing on victimization and incarceration, Activating Change aims to create a safer and more equitable society.
