Achievement Prep is a network of high-performing, college preparatory schools located east of the Anacostia River in Ward 8 of Washington, DC. Founded in 2007 by Shantelle Wright, the organization aims to close the achievement gap and address the educational needs of the community. Since opening its flagship middle school campus in 2008, Achievement Prep has grown to serve over 1,000 scholars in grades PK3-8.
Achievement Prep scholars consistently rank among the top performers in the District, often outperforming peers from more affluent neighborhoods. The organization has successfully combined its elementary and middle schools into one campus, serving 1,000 scholars, and has expanded to include approximately 160 preschool-aged scholars in partnership with Appletree Early Learning PCS.
