Our Story
AccuTran began in 1969 when a group of concerned citizens banded together to create a supportive environment for mentally disabled adults to learn essential life skills. In 1972, a grant from the Bluegrass Association for MH/MR led to the establishment of the Bourbon County Adult Training Center. By 1984, the center became independent and was renamed AccuTran Inc. As outreach efforts expanded, the organization broadened its services to include support for individuals with mental, physical, developmental, and substance abuse-related disabilities. In 1988, AccuTran moved to its current 14,000 square foot facility in Paris, Kentucky. In 1997, it evolved into AccuTran Industries, a sheltered workshop and production facility, and in 2016, it launched PROTECK Professional Rehabilitation, Occupational Training and Employment Centers of Kentucky to further assist participants in integrating into the workforce.
