Live Music Accessibility
Recreational Event Accessibility

Our Story

Accessible Festivals was born from a personal journey of resilience and determination. Co-founder Austin Whitney, after a life-altering car accident that left him with a spinal cord injury, attended his first music festival six months post-accident. Despite limited accessibility, he experienced the joy of live music, igniting a passion to enhance accessibility for others. Partnering with his childhood friend Oren Shani, Austin leveraged his legal expertise and personal insights to create a nonprofit dedicated to ensuring that individuals of all abilities can enjoy live music and recreational activities.

Our Impact

Since 2014, Accessible Festivals has worked tirelessly with organizations and communities nationwide to establish a foundation of accessibility at live events. The commitment to inclusivity has transformed the landscape of event operations, making accessibility a priority.
