Academy of Strings

Our Story

The Academy of Strings was established in 1991 through a generous gift from the late Mrs. Ruth Harris, who aimed to honor her son, "Chip" Harris. With a vision to use music as a tool for fostering well-balanced children, the Academy was founded by Tim and Kim Barrett, who were personally recommended by Dr. Suzuki from Japan. Since its inception, the Academy has provided quality music education to over 80 students, working closely with parents, schools, and community organizations to promote the benefits of arts education.
