Founded in 1972 as Juvenile Assistance of McLean, Second Story has evolved to meet the needs of young people in crisis. Originally a safe housing initiative for teens, it now supports young mothers and homeless youth, adapting its programs to the changing landscape of youth needs in the community. In 2017, the organization rebranded to Second Story, reflecting its mission of providing second chances and new beginnings.
In FY 2023, Second Story supported 77 youth in residential programs and assisted 494 through its crisis hotline, demonstrating a strong commitment to providing safe havens and essential services to vulnerable young people.
