Our Story

Founded in 1957, Ability Building Center began in the basement of a nursing home, dedicated to supporting individuals with disabilities in securing meaningful employment. Over the years, ABC has expanded its services and locations, including the establishment of Woodland Industries and various programs designed to enhance the lives of people with disabilities. In the late 2010s, the organization transitioned to community-based jobs, leading to a name change to Ability Building Community, reflecting its commitment to empowering individuals.

Impact

ABC has successfully provided vocational services and support to individuals with disabilities, enabling them to achieve greater independence and integration into the community. The organization has expanded its programs to serve a diverse range of needs, positively impacting hundreds of individuals in Southeast Minnesota.
