Abilities in Motion (AIM) began its journey in 1989 as the Berks County Center for Independent Living, founded by passionate advocates of the Independent Living Movement. This grassroots initiative emphasizes the right of individuals with disabilities to live independently and make their own choices. Over the years, AIM has expanded its services to include self-directed options, support for individuals transitioning from nursing homes, and youth transition services.
