Founded in 2004, Abby’s Closet began with a simple idea: to give prom dresses a second chance to shine. Abby Egland, inspired by her own experience, started this nonprofit with her mother, Sally Egland, to ensure that high school students could attend prom without financial worries. Over the years, Abby’s Closet has hosted over a decade of Prom Dress Giveaways, serving students from more than 250 schools in Oregon and Southwest Washington.
With over 40,000 dresses given away, Abby’s Closet empowers students to attend prom, fostering confidence and inclusiveness.
