Supporting Young Adults

Transforming Lives Through Mentoring

A`ALI`I Mentoring was born from a heartfelt conversation between long-time friends Cathy Ching and Grace Saturnia during a hike on Wiliwilinui Ridge in December 2020. Recognizing the challenges faced by the next generation, especially during the pandemic, they envisioned a nonprofit dedicated to mentoring young adults from underserved communities in Hawaii. With Cathy’s background as a school counselor and Grace’s experience as a volunteer college essay coach, they set out to create a supportive environment where young people could thrive.

After months of research and discussions with educators and community leaders, the need for empathetic mentors became clear. A`ALI`I Mentoring aims to provide these young individuals with the resources, advocacy, and encouragement they need to navigate higher education and beyond. The organization believes that mentoring is a transformative experience that benefits both the mentee and the mentor.

Making an Impact

While the full impact of A`ALI`I Mentoring's programs is still being measured, early testimonials from alumni Mentees and Mentors indicate positive outcomes. The organization actively tracks Mentee progress, ensuring that they receive the support necessary for their educational and personal journeys.
