Our Story
A Touch of Comfort was founded by James Pite, a cancer survivor who faced the challenges of treatment firsthand. Established in 1999, the organization began its mission to improve the hospital experience for cancer patients by providing essential comfort items and resources. Initially focused on the bone marrow transplant unit at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, A Touch of Comfort has since expanded its services to Yale New Haven Hospital, ensuring that more patients receive the support they need during their treatment journey.
