Our Story

A Place to Stay was established in response to the growing issue of homelessness in Blount County, Tennessee. Formed after a community engagement by the United Way of Blount County, the organization identified a significant homeless population, including many working families unable to afford housing. A Place to Stay coordinates services and support for those experiencing homelessness, collaborating with local agencies to remove barriers to housing and provide transitional and permanent supportive housing solutions.

Impact

Since its incorporation in 2020, A Place to Stay has actively engaged with the community to address homelessness. The organization has established a Community Outreach Resource Center and initiated various community events to raise awareness and provide direct assistance to individuals and families in need.
