Our Story

A Place at the Table was founded in 2015 by Maggie Kane, who recognized the need for a dignified dining experience for those facing food insecurity. Opened in 2018, it is Raleigh’s first pay-what-you-can cafe, offering a welcoming environment for all.

Impact

Since opening, A Place at the Table has served over 255,000 meals to individuals in need and engaged over 2,000 volunteers annually, making a significant difference in the fight against local food insecurity.
