Our Story
Founded in 2011 by passionate volunteers, 350Vermont emerged from the Global Work Party organized by 350.org. Over the years, this grassroots organization has mobilized communities across Vermont to take bold actions for climate justice. From the impactful Human Oil Spill in 2012 to co-leading mass civil disobedience against the fracked gas pipeline, 350Vermont has consistently championed the cause of renewable energy and social justice.
In 2014, 350Vermont sent 22 buses to the People’s Climate March in New York City, and in 2017, 10 buses to the march in Washington, D.C. The organization has also played a pivotal role in the Climate Strikes of 2019, uniting over 300 participants in the Next Steps Climate Justice Walk, culminating in a powerful youth-led action at the State House.
