Founded in 2006, 1Hood Media Academy began as a collective of diverse individuals united to combat violence in their community. Over the years, it has evolved into an intergenerational and intersectional community dedicated to social justice through the arts. In 2011, 1Hood Media became a hub for socially conscious artists and activists, using various art forms to raise awareness about pressing social issues.
