Our Story

The 18th Wonder Improvement Association was established to create community-driven initiatives that enhance urban agriculture and foster community engagement. It began its journey with the creation of a community garden during the COVID pandemic, serving residents of Oakbrook Homes, a public housing development. With community support, the garden has expanded from 12 to 32 raised beds, providing a space for residents to cultivate crops and learn about gardening.

Our Impact

This organization has successfully transformed a neglected plot of land into a thriving community garden that not only provides fresh produce but also fosters community involvement and education among local residents, particularly children.
