One Eighty began with the powerful testimony of Rusty Boruff, who overcame homelessness and addiction. After a transformative year in prison, he and friends purchased a trailer to help men reintegrate into society. Officially established as a nonprofit in 2009, One Eighty has expanded its reach, now operating from a city block in Davenport, Iowa, and offering numerous programs to support those in need.
In the past year, One Eighty has served 2,125 kids and families, graduated 193 individuals from its 14-month residential recovery program, and saved $9 million in taxpayer dollars through judicial partnerships. An impressive 90% of surveyed graduates have achieved stable employment and housing.
